“Blessed is the man
… his delight is in the law of the LORD,
And in His law he meditates day and night.
He shall be like a tree
Planted by the rivers of water,
That brings forth its fruit in its season,
Whose leaf also shall not wither;
And whatever he does shall prosper.”
-Psalm 1:1-3 (NKJV)
About Applewood Christian School …
Purpose:
- To partner with Christian parents.
- To provide quality Christian Education.
- To prepare students for a lifetime of fruitful Christian service
Vision Statement:
This educational program is designed for children in grades K-12 whose parents, and /or the students themselves (based on the age of the child), are committed to a personal faith in the Lord Jesus Christ. The Bible is specific in stating principles which underlie Christian education (Col. 1:16-17; John 1:3). Functioning as an extension of the Christian home, ACS supports parents who seek to obey Biblical instruction which gives them ultimate responsibility for the education of their children (Deuteronomy 6:7-8). Because the Christian approach to learning differs significantly from the secular viewpoint, ACS offers a curriculum rooted in a God-centered view of life. This view holds that God’s truth is the standard for all truth. The Applewood faculty consists of individuals who are called to teach Christian-based curriculum which allows parents to provide academic instruction consistent with the Christ-centered teaching received at home and at church.
The expectations ACS has for its students are based upon its desire to see each student develop the intellectual capacity and talents God has entrusted to him or her to the fullest extent (Luke 2:52; 1 Cor. 4:7; 2Tim 2:15). We recognize that students come to school with differing levels of ability. We desire to challenge students to reach their potential and sense the satisfaction associated with having done their best, regardless of how their performance compares with that of their peers (Col. 2:23; 2 Tim 3:14). To the extent possible, ACS will seek to ensure that no student is permitted to coast through his or her academic program without exerting a reasonable effort to honor God with his or her gifts.Applewood Christian School…inspiring academic excellence in a Christian atmosphere of love and encouragement.
